How can you use social media to make money

Posted August 15, 2018 by EasyFinance.com to Small Business / Entrepreneurship 1 0

Isn’t it strange how expenses such as child care, electricity, rent, and groceries seem to escalate while incomes often appear to remain stagnant? Many consumers who find themselves making less money than they need to meet their bills are eventually forced to resort to borrowing. However, you could earn extra money to service your loans if you consider ways through which you can earn money from social media

While it would be disingenuous to say that making money on social media is easy, it would be equally devious to dismiss the idea off hand. Many would ask: where do I even start? Start by considering the following tips and always remember that this is not a get rich quick scheme; it’s going to require hard work and persistence.

Build trust with followers

In the social media world, followers are a currency. Just as traditional media companies have always made money by selling audiences to advertisers, the same model is working for social media entrepreneurs. Hence, social monetization starts by attracting followers to your social media account.

It is important to realize that just building a following is not enough on its own. You’ll need a strategy to ensure that the content and recommendations you post provide value to your followers. The content should be captivating enough to keep them coming back. You can also link to trusted websites and share unique information.

Promote products

Once you have created a steady stream of followers to your social media profiles, it’s time to start thinking about how you’ll make your money through promoting products. You can either promote products sold by others or you can promote your own products.

Promoting other people's products can involve what is referred to as selling affiliate products. So how does this work? Big retailers like Amazon, who have thousands of products, will allow you to endorse their products using your social media accounts and anyone who clicks and buys from them through your site earns you a commission. It's more like selling other people's products without necessarily having to order and warehouse them.

If you want to promote your own products, it is better to create such a social media account that would both promote your business and bring some valuable information to your followers. Find the way to keep your followers and make them read or watch every your post or video.

Become a social media manager

Do you ever see those intelligent posts from famous people? Well, most of the time those words are actually not theirs; they have been crafted by someone else in exchange for payment.  However, if you’re going to make your money on social media posting for famous people, you have to make sure that you understand the person you are working for thoroughly. This will ensure that your posts are authentic, honest, and have some form of value for that person’s followers.

Know the reasons why people follow the person you are posting for. This will help you to reflect that person’s personality.

Apart from celebrities, you can also approach small companies which don’t have the resources to employ full-time social media managers and offer them your services on a part-time basis. Give them a compelling proposal and show how your work will be able to improve their bottom line.  But then, of course, you should indeed know how to do it.

Audit social media accounts

Many people who are serious about their social media profiles want to create the best first impression but don’t know how to do so. If you are skilled SMM specialist or if you have had a great experience with promoting any social accounts, you can offer your consulting skills on a market. As a consultant, you could get paid for helping people spruce up their profiles.

If you have an eye for detail, just go to a social networking site like LinkedIn or Facebook and you will start noticing how your connection's accounts can be improved. Many people have no idea what to write on the About page on Facebook. There are also many who would want help in creating LinkedIn profiles that can help them land the jobs they want.

Conclusion

Of course, when someone talks about making money on social media, people suddenly think about earning money using their won pages. This is only one of the many ways you can employ. As you can see, you don’t even have to have a massive following to earn on social media; just look for those who already have the following but do not have the time to manage their own profiles. You’ll start off slowly but soon, you’ll have enough extra money that servicing your loans will be much easier.
