  • The first thing you should do is gather all the information that you’re going to need for the budget, such as your source or sources of income, you daily and monthly expenses. Create a list and categorize each one into your needs and wants list.
  • There are a lot of programs on the internet that you can use to get started. Use a worksheet to help you manage your income resources and your expenses. You can also store all of your data online so that you can see it wherever you go as long as you have an internet connection.
  • If you don’t want to rely on the internet for your money management tools, you can get computer based software. All you have to do is download a free trial online so that you’ll know which one you’ll like best. If you are looking for something like this, do your research first and check out different options, features etc.
  • If you want to keep things simple, you can just get spreadsheets and write down all your accounts. You can download the templates online and just print them out or you can input the data on your computer. You can specifically look for a spreadsheet that would fit your situation or accounts best.
  • Want to keep track of your spending? What you should get for yourself is an expense tracker. This will track all of your purchases and will ensure that you don’t go over your monthly budget. You will also know how much of it is left. This will be put to really good use if you often go out to eat, go out to meetings etc. You can also download applications like these in your cell phone.
  • Budget calculators are used to tabulate your monthly savings, your daily expenses, annual expenses and even your income. All you have to do is input the information that is needed so that your calculator will automatically do a budget review.
